Alison Elwin is an experienced Rehabilitation Counsellor, having worked in case management, injury management and prevention roles for over 17 years.
Alison works with clients across the lifespan from children to the aged, presenting with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputations and vision impairment. She has experience working with city and rurally based clients with complex medical needs, behavioural issues, dual diagnosis and high care needs.
Alison is committed to assisting people to achieve their life goals and rehabilitation outcomes. She works collaboratively with the client, their family and the multidisciplinary team to ensure a coordinated, client centred approach. Alison adapts case management strategies to ensure they meet the changing needs of her clients.
Alison has extensive vocational rehabilitation experience and can assist clients in identifying pre-vocational and return to work goals after sustaining significant injury.
Alison completed her Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) at Western Sydney University in 1995. She finalised her Master of Arts in Sport Psychology at the same institution in 1996. Further post graduate qualifications were completed in Psychology and Work Health & Safety in 2000 and 2012 respectively.
Alison has experience across Workers Compensation, CTP, Lifetime Care and Life Insurance having worked for rehabilitation providers, insurers, employers and government organisations.
Alison became an approved Case Manager with Lifetime Care and Support Authority on 2015 and is a fully accredited Rehabilitation Counsellor with the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors.
